Each county in California is required to have a General Plan which serves as a guiding document for the County’s long-term growth and development. Glenn County’s previous general plan dates back to 1993, and a lot has changed. New housing developments have been built, business and industry is changing, and the county has grown.

The Glenn County General Plan applies to all of the unincorporated area of the county outside of the cities of Willows and Orland, which have their own general plans. The General Plan addresses a range of important community topics like land use, housing, economic development, transportation, parks and recreation, public safety, and more. County staff, elected and appointed officials, business owners, developers, and citizens can reference the General Plan for guidance on what the community values and its priorities.
